Using the S-TEC IntelliFlight 2100 Autopilot with the EXP5000
Entegra EXP5000 PFD -42- 600-00157-000 Rev. 06
3.8 Using the S-TEC IntelliFlight 2100 Autopilot with
the EXP5000
If your aircraft is equipped with an S-TEC Intelliflight 2100 Autopilot,
read this section for information on how the EXP5000 operates with
the S-Tec IntelliFlight 2100 autopilot. The following sections describe
the autopilot modes and annunciations supported by the PFD.
IntelliFlight 2100 Autopilot Bugs
The color of Heading, Altitude, or VSI Bugs indicates when the bug is
coupled to the autopilot.
A solid magenta Heading, Altitude, or VSI Bug indicates that the
bug is coupled to the autopilot.
A hollow magenta Heading, Altitude, or VSI Bug indicates that
the bug is not coupled to the autopilot.
For more information about the EXP5000 bugs, see Right Buttons
and Knob, on page 19.
IntelliFlight 2100 Autopilot Annunciations
The autopilot annunciations display left to right across the top of the
EXP5000. The color of the annunciated text indicates the mode or
state as follows:
Green - Active mode
White - Armed mode
Amber - Failure state
When a mode fails, both the FAIL message and the failed mode
display in amber. The message alternates between the failed mode
and the word FAIL.
The following table identifies the autopilot messages that can be
annunciated across the top of the PFD. From left to right, the columns
in this table map to fields “in the same location” across the top of the
PFD. For example, any AP Status message will display in the left-
most position and any Trim Status message will display in the right-
most position.
